NSF Summer Institute on Nano- and Biomechanics

The NSF Summer Institute on Nano Mechanics and Materials will host two short courses this summer. The material will be presented at a level accessible to graduates of the science and engineering programs. Emphasis will be on recent techniques and theory that are unavailable in texts or standard university courses.

Short Courses for this summer are
Science Fundamentals for Nano-and Bio-Mechanics of Materials, July 31-August4, 2006
Micro and Nano Devices with Applications to Biology and Nanoelectronics, August 7-11, 2006

The cost for each short course is $2,000.00. However, 20 NSF fellowships, consisting of full tuition plus atravel allowance, are areavailable to professors, post-doctoral fellows, and PhD candidates studying at US universities.
